Well, howdy there, internet people, it's Bob again. So today we are going to talk

about Trump's request for a special master and what that means now that it's

been granted. So a judge down there has decided that a third party will review the documents and

sort out any privileged material. The Department of Justice is likely to appeal this, but at the end of it it doesn't really matter.

This isn't going to have a substantial impact on the case, it's just a delay. Now it's a unique position to take. If you go back and

look at the previous video where I was talking about the special master, I tried to go out of my way

to not use the term executive privilege because that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me to argue that some of the

documents would be covered by executive privilege when a portion of what they're looking for is presidential records because that's kind of

I mean it almost seems like an admission that there are presidential records in there.

Now I think one of the reasons that that aspect of it was kind of

overlooked is the fact that the Presidential Records Act really doesn't have a

mechanism for enforcement.

This is what you're supposed to do, but there's no huge penalty if you don't do it.

However, it does kind of say that presidential records are property of the US government.

Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, neutolates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or with intent to do so, takes

and carries away any record preceding map, book, paper, document, or other thing filed or deposited with any

clerk or officer of any court of the United States or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States,

shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years or both.

I mean, I would hope that the special master

doesn't find any presidential records

that belong to the people.
