there internet people it's bell again so today we're going to talk about Trump caving on ODINI after Congress rejects FISA.

And perhaps one of the most bizarre moves on Capitol Hill in a while,

congressional Republicans who seem to understand exactly how questionable Trump's first pick for the

director of national intelligence was, signaled they might be willing to get rid of the whole office.

That's led to a pretty funny question from one of you. But let's start with the news. Trump put Bill Pulte, a person with no

experience to speak of, in charge of U.S. intelligence. It's a move that's so bad, it's already

caused an extension of Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act to be rejected,

because Congresspeople were apparently unwilling to extend the controversial spy power under the

Trump pick. They were also saying they just need to trash the office altogether. Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana was asked by

the press if he'd support eliminating the office of the director of national intelligence. And he said,

A lot of people whose judgment I respect tell me that it's unnecessary, and if that's the case,

and we don't need it, and it's just holding us back, and we can save money? Sure.

Senator John Hoven of North Dakota said he was willing to take a hard look at getting rid of the bureaucracy.

Some are suggesting this was just a way to subvert Trump without openly opposing him.

If they just get rid of the office, they wouldn't have to call Trump's pick to lead the office

out for the abject disaster that it was.

That may or may not be true.

We don't know.
