Well, howdy there internet people, it's Bell again. So today we're going to talk about the second Trump attempt.

We're going to go over what is known at the time of recording and then we'll go over some of the questions that came in

immediately after the news broke. At least those that are still valid because many of

the questions were based on early reporting, much of which has turned out to be wrong.

Here's the obligatory channel reminder. Don't believe initial reporting about any dramatic event.

The rush to be first often overrides the responsibility to try to be correct.

As with any event like this, some of this information is likely to change as more information becomes available.

Okay, so what happened?

A 58 year old man has been taken into custody.

Local authorities allege he was hiding in some shrubbery alongside

a golf course with a rifle. The reporting suggests that the Secret Service spotted him

and engaged.

Trump was roughly 300 to 500 yards away.

Most sources are putting it around 400 yards.

Agents fired at the suspect.

It is unknown for certain whether the suspect fired at anyone,

but most sources say he did not.

It appears that after taking fire, the suspect fled the scene.

Later, an AK-style rifle, along with some other items,

were discovered near where the suspect had been.

The 58-year-old man was taken into custody without incident.

Based on the information available, it looks like the secret service agents conducting the sweep ahead of Trump spotted the suspect. The fact that those agents the comments from law enforcement are right, the suspect had an AK-47 style weapon.
