Well, howdy there, internet people, let's Boa Gunn.

0:03.0

So today we are going to talk about 2023 being a record-breaking year.

0:10.0

We're number one. We're number one because we have some new information, an

0:15.5

updated list coming from NOAA that is the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric

0:20.6

Administration and they have this Atmospheric Administration.

0:23.7

And they have this chart they've been doing since, I want to say 1980-ish.

0:31.0

And it keeps track of extreme weather events that have caused more than a billion dollars in damage.

0:40.0

And this year, we have 23, which beats out the previous record of 22, which was set in, I want to say 2020.

0:52.0

That's pretty amazing when you really think about it.

1:34.0

1:50.9

stand for quite some time because it was a big deal. There were a number of

1:56.5

major events and they thought that that was going to hold for a while. It didn't.

2:01.3

I don't imagine that this year's is going to hold for a long time either.

2:07.0

You have a lot of people who are still debating whether or not climate change is a thing. Climate change is

2:17.5

definitely a thing. It's real. You put more energy out there in the atmosphere, in the ocean, you get more extreme weather events and they are also more powerful.
