Well, howdy there internet people, it's Bell again.

So today we're going to talk about some developments in Oklahoma concerning the Trump-endors

Bibles and some changes and challenges.

First, a quick recap.

The state superintendent of schools out in Oklahoma,

a guy named Ryan Walters,

has been pushing to include Bibles in the schools.

That's a move that has been met with a lot of pushback from some of the state's

largest school districts. Many districts are simply saying they won't comply.

So there's the starting point. Local school officials are saying Walters doesn't have the authority to mandate the

way he is saying he will. The superintendent of Bigsby Public Schools said

quote there's no punishments or threats or anything else.

He continues to say that we will do it when the law clearly says that he does not have the

authority to make us do that.

Then, the state put out the requirements for the Bibles.

The requirements miraculously lined up

with the Trump-endorsed Bibles, so closely that some said the requirements might

violate state law.

The media coverage was pretty consistent.

A spokesman for Walters said, quote,

unfortunately, there have been false reports that have been repeated

by numerous supposedly credible news organizations that the state's RFP was
