Well, howdy there, internet people. It's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about the Iran

flare-up and Vance's prediction. After Trump promised peace was just around the corner,

and that a deal with Iran would come soon for the 37th time. And that's really the number. The completely

surprising thing happened. The fighting flared. So what happened? Well, it looked like things were

going to cool off a little bit and revert back to the status quo of there being an official ceasefire with just a little bit of firing

when a US-A-H-64 Apache was downed near the Strait of H-H-Moos.

The pilots were reportedly rescued by a maritime drone, which really just seems to be a remote-controlled speedboat. Trump decided it was necessary to

respond, so U.S. CENTCOM launched strikes on Iran. There is some speculation that Trump only

ordered the strikes because of feelings of humiliation, related to Netanyahu ignoring him and launching strikes

after Trump told him not to. That came shortly after Trump said, quote, I call the shots.

I call all the shots. He doesn't call the shots. Can I just say there are way too many shots for a time when shots are supposed

to have ceased? Trump probably hoped it would restore some respect. It doesn't appear to have

worked because Iran launched strikes of its own in turn on U.S. aligned targets in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait.

Iran's foreign minister indicated that they would retaliate any time Trump ordered a strike and said,

quote, leave our region if you want to be safe. You would think that would be it.

But of course, recent statements by Vance made the chain of events even more odd and perhaps more troubling.

He recently raised eyebrows by saying, quote,

I think that the deal could happen in the next week, but the deal could also

happen months from now. He seemed fairly sure a deal could come before the midterms. Then on

Monday, he told the press, quote, I feel extremely confident that we are not going to be talking about America's involvement

in Iran even a year down the road, but certainly not years down the road.

Weeks, months, now a year. That's how Quagmire's happen.
