Well, howdy there, internet people it spell again.

So today, we're going to talk about the House canceling a war powers vote.

On Wednesday, the House had a war powers resolution vote scheduled.

It would have been a parallel to the one that advanced in the Senate and would have ended Trump's action in and around Iran.

Then Republicans canceled the vote.

If you aren't familiar with Capitol Hill maneuvering, a vote getting scheduled generally means that the leadership of the majority party has done the vote count math,

and they will get the outcome they want. Do you know what it means when a vote is scheduled

and then gets canceled at the last minute? It means the vote count math changed. That could happen

for a number of reasons. It could be that a bunch of

congresspeople came down with the flu and the absences would shift the outcome. Or it could be people

changing their minds. Or it could be that Trump's inability to wind down the war he started, despite U.S. intelligence telling him his

justification was a lie, has started to bother Republicans. Or it could be the disturbing news

about how his administration left American troops without adequate medical evacuation options.

Or it could just be good old fashioned economics, and people changing their minds because they know

that without a big change soon, the economy will tank.

So they moved the vote to Thursday.

Then Thursday rolled around and they canceled it again. Now it doesn't

look like it'll be taken up until June. While there's only a little bit of rumor mill stuff on it at time of

recording, when it comes to exactly who told Johnson what? It looks like Johnson found out about a combination of absences and Republicans

willing to vote to approve the measure that would limit Trump. It was that combination

that recently allowed the war powers resolution to move forward in the Senate. What really needs
