So today, we're going to talk about DC preparing an Epstein spectacle.

The House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer issued a flurry of subpoenas.

Many don't know what to make of it.

The Republican Party has had serious issues

balancing the demands of its base for an investigation, the legal realities of releasing information,

the wide-ranging exposure of the potential scandal, the fact that many prominent figures

rhetorically used the issue for years and made promises.

The general curiosity of the public. And then finally, the fact that large portions of their base

are deeply invested in a series of theories about the Epstein case. The Republicans in the House have apparently

finally decided on a course of action, a probe that will likely lead to star-studded hearings.

So far, subpoenas have gone out to Attorney's General Jeff Sessions, Alberto Gonzalez,

and William Barr, Merrick Garland, Loretta Lynch,

and Eric Holder, former FBI directors James Comey and Robert Mueller. There's also subpoenas

for Bill and Hillary Clinton. The dates look like this will begin in mid-August and run through October.

So, what does this really mean? House Republicans left early, in part to avoid taking another

vote related to releasing the files. There was hope among Republicans that interest would fade.

This flurry of subpoenas suggests that they've

come to the conclusion that the interest won't fade. Reporting says that tonight, top Trump officials

will be having dinner at Vice President Vance's place. Odd. To have a strategy meeting about the situation. Reporting says there's talk about

sending one of the officials on the Joe Rogan show to shore up support. The Trump administration

is trying to mitigate the damage as they lose sway not only among the conspiracy theory base, which was a predictable
