Well, howdy there internet people, let's bow again. So today we are going to talk about the

FBI and California and nine cops and we're going to go ahead and go through this even though there's not a whole lot of information at the moment because I have a feeling

this is going to be the start of a series of videos.

It certainly bears all the hallmarks of something that will be an expanding story. Okay, so what actually happened?

Let's start there.

The FBI arrested nine current or former cops from multiple departments in California

and they were charged via four different indictments.

Yes, the text messages, if you have heard about this, it's related to this, but there's some bad reporting, They were not arrested over the text messages and the

text messages did not spark the investigation. As I understand it, some local

prosecutors and the FBI opened an investigation over the

falsification of records, over civil rights violations, and excessive force.

That investigation led to the discovery of the text messages

that have created the scandal that people are talking about.

If you haven't heard about it, the text messages,

I think that most people would view some of the messages as racist, misogynistic, homophobic.

There also appears to be some messages that some might consider them bragging about the use of force in an inappropriate way.

But that is not actually what the arrests are for.

So we're going to go over the indictments.

The indictments, there's four of them.

The first one is wire fraud, dealing with some kind of college scam.

The second has to do with the distribution of steroids. The third has to do with

obstruction, the altering, falsifying, or destroying of records.
