Well, howdy there internet people, Lidsboo again. So today we are going to talk about

politics as usual. And by that I mean a whole bunch of unnecessary talking points that

realistically do not matter.

We are going to talk about Texas, we are going to talk about the White House, we're going to

talk about the back and forth that has been going on between the officials, and then we are going to talk about how literally none of it is relevant to

the subject at hand.

Okay, so what's going on, right?

There is a belief that the federal government responds to the hurricane that hit Texas, well it just came too late and there's a delay.

The White House has indicated that they didn't get the request for the Major Disaster Declaration and that they can't do anything without that.

Texas officials have said, well that's not our fault if you

needed that. You had FEMA people here. You could have just called one of your own

officials and they could have just called one of your own officials,

and they could have put me on the phone.

I don't believe the White House has actually said it,

but the implication certainly seems to be there in subtext that the governor of Texas was paying more

attention to Taiwan than the hurricane that hit the state. The idea that FEMA officials were in Texas that has nothing to do with the

conversation. FEMA can show up and advise, coordinate, help do all kinds of things without a request.

They can volunteer to do that.

However, if the state wants the federal government to pay for, I want to say, 75% of the costs,

they have to request a major disaster declaration.

It's paperwork.

It has dates on it.
