Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about Trump caving, negotiations, and what's at stake.

Tomorrow, congressional leaders are scheduled to meet with Trump to discuss the budget ahead of the potential shutdown.

We know that at minimum, House Speaker Mike Johnson, Senate Majority Leader John Thune,

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer are scheduled to be present.

Now, I know. I know you're saying that can't be because Trump handed down the order to Republicans

to not even bother dealing with Democrats because he believed their votes weren't needed, saying,

quote, we have to get Republican votes, that's all. When he was told that he would need Democratic help, he said,

quote, no, we're going to do a, probably a continuing resolution, or we're going to do something.

So, we're going to do something. Given all of his posturing and the fact that he canceled the last meeting, there's no way there's a meeting tomorrow.

Well, it turns out, vote count math doesn't care about his posturing to the media.

He doesn't have the votes.

Jeffries and Schumer released a statement.

As we have repeatedly said, Democrats will meet

anywhere, at any time, with anyone to negotiate a bipartisan spending agreement that meets

the needs of the American people. The Democratic Party has said they won't support a bill that doesn't extend the ACA subsidies

that allows millions of Americans to have health insurance and are also asking to reverse the

Medicaid cuts from Trump's one big beautiful bill. I think they've also thrown in something about

public broadcasting, but that seems like something to be negotiated away during the process.

Republicans recently signaled that if a shutdown occurred, they would permanently lay off many federal workers.

The polling suggests that most people would blame Republicans for the shutdown,

which gives Democrats little reason to cave. If people are blaming Trump for the shutdown,
