Well, howdy there, internet people, it's bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about SCOTUS, handing Trump, and approved gerrymandered map.

The Supreme Court of the United States has rubber-stamped a map widely accepted as gerrymandered

that was designed to help Republicans win five more U.S.

House seats in the 2026 midterm election.

I'm not joking when I say that the Supreme Court suggested the lower court didn't presume

Republicans were acting in good faith.

The High Court said the lower court, quote,

failed to honor the presumption of legislative good faith by construing ambiguous, direct, and circumstantial evidence against the legislature.

I know that's a legal thing, but why on earth would somebody presume

good faith when the legislature itself has made it clear the redistricting effort was not to

provide better representation for voters, but to provide better chances for Republicans.

Even spelling out the number of seats they want to switch over and gerrymander.

They chose their voters, instead of letting their voters choose them.

A dissenting opinion suggested that the court didn't properly review the case.

Supreme Court Justice Kagan wrote the court made the decision after, quote, perusal over a holiday weekend of a cold paper record.

The dissent went on to say that the map, quote, ensures that many Texas citizens, for no good reason,

will be placed in electoral districts because of their race. And that result, as this court has

pronounced year in and year out, is a violation of the Constitution. The dissent was also signed by Justice Sonia Sotomayor and

Katanji Brown Jackson. While some Republicans are celebrating, others are concerned,

especially after the results of the special election for Tennessee's 7th District.

In order to create the new districts, Texas Republicans had to shuffle voters.
