Well, howdy there internet people, let's bow again. So today we are going to talk about

the Supreme Court, yet another big decision that has come down. We will talk about regulations. We will talk about how things

worked prior to this decision and how they'll probably work in the future and we'll talk about how it is my

personal belief that this is another situation where the Republican Party just caught the car. is a doctrine called Chevron was overruled, thrown out.

It's gone. This has existed since 1984. What did it do? It created a situation where the courts would defer to the federal agency that created regulations

based on a law from Congress.

Clear as my right.

Okay, so this is how it would work. Congress would write a law.

That law says we want clean air.

The EPA is empowered to get us clean air,

grossly oversimplifying here.

So the EPA comes up with regulations to fit within the law sent over from Congress.

Those regulations, they're created by the agency and

then that agency enforces those regulations. If it got called to court, the courts

under this doctrine would say that the agency's interpretation of the

law for these regulations was correct.

Even if there was another interpretation of the law that could be applied.

That's how it worked.

So, it allowed Congress, you know what, I'll read a little bit from the dissent here.

Congress knows that it does not, in fact it cannot write perfectly complete

regulatory statutes. It knows that those statutes will inevitably contain

ambiguities that some other actor will have to resolve, and gaps
