Well, howdy there internet people, let's bow again. So today we are going to talk about

Oklahoma and a new directive that has come down for the school system there that would require a very specific book to be in

every classroom fifth through 12th grade from what I understand and is likely to cause one or two

legal challenges as it moves forward.

The directive has come down that immediately

the Bible will be present in every classroom

and that it will be present in every classroom and that it will be talked in public schools.

Now obviously there are going to be some people that are apprehensive about this

just hearing about it so we will skip ahead here to what's most likely.

What's most likely is that this gets challenged.

It goes to the state Supreme Court and it gets struck down.

Why?

Because the state Supreme Court there in Oklahoma just struck down a proposal that would have

provided funding to a charter school that was religious in nature and the state Supreme Court

said that it violated the US Constitution, the state Constitution, and state

law. It seems unlikely that that same state Supreme Court would then say,

oh, okay, turn all of the public schools into religious institutions. So that's your most likely

outcome before people get too worked up about it. But what if it's not? What if that doesn't happen? It seems, based on the statements,

it seems as though they plan on trying to frame it as if they're using the Bible to provide context to the

founding of this country, saying it's crystal clear to us that in the Oklahoma academic standards under

Title 70 on multiple occasions the Bible is a necessary historical document to

teach our kids about the history of this country,
