So today, we're going to talk about RFK Jr., vaccines, and the GOP getting what they voted for.

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, who is also a doctor, had some things to say about

a Centers for Disease Control Advisory Committee voting to overturn a decades-long policy

on Hep B vaccines. He posted to social media, quote, as a liver doctor who has treated patients with hepatitis B for decades,

this change to the vaccine schedule is a mistake. The hepatitis B vaccine is safe and effective.

The birth dose is a recommendation, not a mandate. Before the birth dose was recommended, 20,000 newborns a year

were infected with hepatitis B. Now it's fewer than 20. Ending the recommendation for newborns

makes it more likely the number of cases will begin to increase again. This makes America sicker.

Acting CDC Director O'Neill should not sign these new recommendations and instead retain the

current evidence-based approach. Health and Human Services Secretary RFK Jr., set this entire chain of events into motion.

If only, there was some political body, some congressional body, whose purpose was to provide advice and consent to the President

when it comes to the appointment of people who could fundamentally

reshape American policy in a way that could negatively impact Americans.

Oh yeah, it's the Senate.

And when it comes to this particular appointment, Senator Bill Cassidy voted in favor of

RFK Jr.'s confirmation. Some would say his vote was one of the single most important votes

because he's a Republican doctor who could have actually influenced his party in an incredibly

narrow vote. Most would say that if Senator

Cassidy had thrown his weight against Junior, he wouldn't be Health and Human Services Secretary

right now. You can't cry over spilled milk when you lifted the toddler up and put him on the table to begin with.
