Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about

Republicans acknowledging that the tariffs will raise prices and why they didn't care. We're going

to start with a question. Bell, 69% of Americans and 59% of Republicans say they think tariffs will raise prices.

Yet, they voted for the Tangerine tariff to fix inflation. Make it make sense. How do you complain

about inflation and then vote for more of it? So, if you haven't seen the polling, some polling came out that said exactly what's in

the message. Why did they vote for him? People vote against their own interest all the time. But

what's more telling is that in the same poll, the same respondents, 47% of Republicans said they thought foreign countries pay tariffs.

That means at least 6% of Republicans believe it will raise prices and believe foreign countries pay for them.

What you have is a disconnect between a question about how a policy works, do tariffs raise prices, and a question

that leads to a partisan talking point. Trump repeatedly told his followers that foreign countries

pay for tariffs. They don't want to disagree with their party. Partisanship and brand loyalty

are very powerful things. They repeat the

talking points of the in-group while knowing they aren't true. They engage in double-think,

holding two contradictory views to appease the party. Just like the proles, they're too afraid to say that 2 plus 2 equals 4, or in this

case that $9.99 plus tariff equals $12.49. But tariffs and economics get complicated. Some might want

to say they learned after they voted. And that's probably

true for some. So, I have another poll for you. A CBS UGov poll found that 59% of Americans approve of

Trump's handling of the transition. I find that to be a staggering number. But the really weird thing is that the

polling was conducted from the 19th to the 22nd. The polling ended four days before Trump finally

signed the documents allowing him to start the transition. What are they basing their opinion on?

Unconfirmed cabinet picks? How can you approve of

something that hasn't started? The same way, you can know tariffs will raise prices and take money
