So today, we're going to talk about too many red flags and what it means for the market.

An interesting note put out by the head of Bank of America's U.S. equity and quantitative strategy team, Savita Submaranian, has gotten a lot of

attention from the media, investors, and from everyday people who are trying to figure out if

they're part of the economy is ever going to get better. Here's a question. Bell, Bank of America said there are too many red flags in the

market. Bear signposts. Take profits. Isn't it their job to sell stocks? Can we maybe get a regular

person translation? Okay. So the note is literally titled Too Many Red Flags, Take Profits.

Take Profits is Wall Street Speak for sell stock. It's selling assets that have gone up in

value in order to lock in the financial gains. Because until you've sold the stock,

you haven't actually made any money in real life.

It's purely theoretical, or unrealized gains.

So what does the note say?

Here's the important part.

Quote,

Our bare market signposts, the triggers that typically proceed in

S&P 500 peak, suggests additional caution may be warranted. Today, 70% of our signposts are triggered,

in line with the average observed in prior market peaks.
