Well, howdy there internet people, let's go up again. So today we are going to talk about Ohio and Nevada or Nevada.

Talk about those two states and a couple of petitions, how they are progressing, and how

petitions like this that are going to lead to ballot initiatives are going to impact things

far beyond just what's written on the initiative. So we'll start with Ohio. Up there a group has dropped off more than 700,000 signatures, which is almost twice what they actually needed.

They went a little above and beyond to try to limit the Republican Party's ability to play games because this particular petition,

well the GOP is incredibly opposed to it. What does it do? It restructures the way the maps get

drawn up there. Cortels limits gerrymandering. Ohio isn't the worst state as far as that goes but it could

definitely use some work.

So you have that. At this point, as long as the Republican Party doesn't get some wild move through to disqualify a

bunch of signatures or something like that that one's probably going to be on

the ballot now in Nevada there's one on reproductive rights and basically that one's done.

It's going to be on the ballot in November, short of just some wild long shot lawsuit or something.

Okay, both of these things are important issues.

They're things that matter as far as what the

initiative is going to be about and the people actually having a say in it so

they are being represented rather than ruled. All of that's

important. It's also important because it is going to increase voter turnout.

The people who are going to show up to support these

initiatives, they will probably contribute to those people who do not vote for Trump. So as far as the Democratic Party is concerned, all of the

petitions, all of the initiatives like this, not just are they policy wins, they're also good electoral strategy.

And with enough of them, particularly in states that might be up for grabs come November,

it might make the deciding difference.
