Well, howdy there internet people? It's Bell again. So today we're going to talk about

natives, Montana, and how the US Senate race there might have just seen a development

with major effects.

The seat occupied by Senator John Tester, who's a Democrat,

is one of the few seats Republican seat

as a seat they might be able to flip from blue to red in their quest to

control the Senate.

His opponent is Trump endorsed Tim Sheehi.

Sheehi is a former seal who moved to Montana and founded an aerial firefighting company.

He doesn't have any real political experience to speak of, but he had a good resume for a Republican candidate.

Overall, his campaign's been going pretty well.

Now, a news outlet on the Flathead Indian Reservation obtained and published recordings that reportedly

have the Senate hopeful saying derogatory comments about natives.

Montana's native population is large.

According to the reports, it's Shee, who is heard saying, quote,

great way to bond with all the Indians

to be out there while they're drunk at 8 a.m. and you're

roping together. Another recording reportedly has him talking about riding a

horse at a crow parade and how the natives will let you know whether or not they like you

and that you can tell by the beer cans flying by your head. Obviously in the

state with a huge native population, the stereotype being perpetrated was seen as unwelcome.

If elected, he would be expected to represent the interests of those being stereotyped.
