Well, howdy there internet people, Lidsboo again. So today we are going to talk about minors

and rules, regulations, and Republicans up in the House of Representatives, and unions, because it appears that the president of the United Mind Workers of America

seems to be under the impression that House Republicans plan on blocking

enforcement of a rule about silica dust. It would limit miners exposure to silica dust. It seems as

though the idea might be to defund enforcement of that rule.

Cecil Roberts, who's the union head, he said that it was morally reprehensible to do that.

He also said, it is difficult for me to understand how certain members of Congress could possibly be supportive of more miners dying a suffocating death as a result of being forced to breathe this dust.

Now one thing to point out before we go on is that this isn't new information.

The fact that this dust is bad, it's not new.

It's been looked at a very long time. The CDC has been issuing guidelines and

recommendations about it going back to the 70s. 50 years this has been known

about.

Now, as far as Roberts is concerned, I've met him briefly.

He is not somebody who is known for blowing things out of

proportion. He's known for being direct like that quote but he's not known for for a whole lot of

hyperbole. If he says that the lack of enforcement of this rule is going to

kill minors, It will. I have no doubt about that.

He went on to say that blocking enforcement of this rule would be a direct

attack on the health and safety of coal miners. This is one of those rules that is created by the

agency that would enforce it. The subject matter experts.

When you are considering the outcome of the Supreme Court decision about Chevron and overruling that.

This would play into it.
