So today, we're going to talk about how Trump's health insurance hike is coming soon.

A whole lot of people are going to see an increase in their health insurance costs soon.

Unless Republicans admit Trump's one big beautiful bill is an absolute failure at

protecting the working class and reverse some of their decisions.

We're going to read a question first and discuss two aspects to this.

Quote, question for Bell and the community. Everyone seems to be appropriately concerned with the cuts to

Medicaid and SNAP, which they should be, but I haven't heard much about the expiry of the Affordable

Care Act subsidies, which is set to happen at the end of the year. I am self-employed and by my own health insurance.

My premiums are going to go up by about 60%. Why aren't more folks concerned about this?

60%? Ouch. Big outch. Okay, so let's hit the news first trump's one big beautiful bill for billionaires

didn't renew ACA subsidies that created upward price pressure and then there's the normal

increases as well and some are even suggesting that the increase

will see upward pressure from Trump's tariffs too.

Peterson KFF Health System Tracking has a piece saying, quote, for 2026 across 312 insurers

participating in the ACA marketplaces from the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

This analysis shows a median proposed premium increase of 18%, which is about 11 percentage points higher than last year.

This is the largest rate change insurers have

requested since 2018. There's a lot more going into this than just the above numbers. And from what

I've seen, I think an 18% increase is optimistic. I feel like it's going to be even more than that. But even at 18%,

it's going to be far beyond what many people, especially many of those who voted for Trump, can
