So today, we're going to talk about Heg-Seth attacking NATO and undermining U.S. power.

Hexeth is lashing out at our allies in the most nonsensical way possible.

He's endangering U.S. power, U.S. forces, and U.S.

influence. And he doesn't even have the basic math right. I understand that the Republican

Party and the Republican base at this point are running on memes, but some of his claims and implications don't make any sense.

He's operating off what American mythology told him things were like, rather than operating

off the facts. This is exactly what led to the dismal strategy that produced a humiliating defeat for Trump and American

forces in Iran. Honestly, him lashing out at NATO so shortly after reeks of the guy who gets

chewed out by his boss and then comes home and yells at his wife. Or the tough guy, who gets his clock cleaned one night

and is so embarrassed the next night he starts a fight with an unsuspecting friend. He said the U.S.

would be launching a six-month review of forces in Europe, with the implied threat of reducing U.S. presence. He said, quote,

This will be a real review. It will be designed to ensure that NATO is moving fast and irreversibly

toward Europe leading, stepping up to take primary responsibility for the defense of Europe.

So, Europe doesn't have primary responsibility for the defense of Europe?

The math says otherwise, bro. The U.S. has about 75,000 troops in Europe. Europe? More than a million. How many tanks does the U.S. have? A couple hundred.

European nations? Thousands. Okay. But the U.S. is known for air power. Surely we own the skies over Europe. We have a couple

hundred fighters. European nations maintain a couple thousand. It sounds like Europe already

has primary responsibility, and the Trump line is just some meme taken too far. That's especially true when you realize that out of those

75,000 troops the U.S. has in Europe, about 10% are medical. By the time you account for logistics,

command and control, and so on, the number of troops that could realistically be expected to see combat is well under 50,000.
