So today, we're going to talk about more GOP senators turning on Trump's tariff tantrum.

A growing number of Republican senators are openly signing on to a bill called the Trade

Review Act of 2025.

The bill severely limits Trump's ability to impose tariffs without congressional

approval. Reminder, the Constitution gives the power over tariffs to Congress, not the president.

Congress delegated the power to the president, but can take it back whenever it wants.

The bill requires Trump to notify Congress of any new

tariffs and allows Congress to stop any tariff immediately via a joint resolution against the tariff.

Most interestingly, if Congress doesn't pass a joint resolution in support of the tariff,

the tariff automatically sunsets at 60 days. In short, every single

tariff would require congressional action. A few days ago, the idea of Republicans moving to

limit Trump's power was unthinkable, but he broke the cardinal rule of the Republican Party.

Don't mess with the money, especially the money

of rich donors. Stocks have lost almost $10 trillion because of Trump's tariff tantrum. To put that in

perspective, that's more than the federal budget for a whole year. If the losses continue to mount,

it'll be two years worth by the end of the week.

That has led Senators Jerry Moran of Kansas, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Tom Tillis of North Carolina,

Todd Young of Indiana, and Susan Collins of Maine to join with senatorial heavy hitters

like Chuck Grassley and Mitch McConnell in supporting

the bill. It's important to note that these are senators who jumped to publicly support the bill

right away. There will likely be more, and there will be even more in support if it comes up for a
