There are normally disagreements at this stage of the reconciliation process, but it's the nature

of the disagreements that will prove to be the most troubling.

Remember over in the House, the issue to getting it through were the fiscal hawk objections, who felt the services

cuts weren't deep enough and the tax cuts were too deep. They rightly said the plan being sold

to voters as something to help with the national debt adds to it, not reduces. Well, in the

Senate, a number of Republicans have publicly said,

they thought the services cuts went too deep, and the tax cuts didn't go far enough. Then,

the electoral concerns for senators are even sharper. Senator Josh Hawley of Missouri, who has been described as a progressive or a liberal

by exactly zero people over the course of his career, said he is, quote, not going to vote for

Medicaid cuts. Later, expanding on it and clarifying, he'd be okay with some administrative cuts, but nothing
