Well, howdy there internet people? It's Bell again. So today we're going to talk

about North Carolina giving their electoral votes to Trump, just cuz. Chair of the Freedom Caucus, Representative Andy Harris of Maryland, engaged in a discussion about using the state legislature of North Carolina to just give the state's electoral votes to Trump.

The idea is that because some of the state was impacted by Hurricane Helene, it was disenfranchising

voters.

Representative Harris was reacting to the It was

reacting to the idea being presented by a pro-Trump activist who supported

Trump's claims about the 2020 election.

When he said quote, mean you statistically can go and say hey

look you've got disenfranchised in 25 counties you know what that vote probably would have been, which would be if I were in the

legislature enough to go, yeah, we've got to convene the legislature and we can't disenfranchise

the voters. But how do you make the argument in other

states? I mean otherwise it looks like it's just a power play. The backlash was swift and ferocious and not just from the Democratic side of

the aisle. North Carolina Representative Patrick McHenry, a Republican, said

quote,

it makes no sense whatsoever to prejudge the election outcome.

And that is a misinformed view of what is happening

on the ground in North Carolina.

Unfortunately, bless his heart.

When you've got a southern man saying bless his heart in public,

it's normally because what he really wants to say he can't say in public.

You've messed up and it really doesn't make any sense.

In-person turnout is actually up in the areas in question, not down.
