Well, howdy there internet people, let's bow again. So today we are going to talk

about Colorado and Alabama and a general and we're going to talk a little bit

about information consumption and we're going to illustrate

something and we're going to provide a little bit of context to a story that is going

out that might be leaving people with the wrong idea.

Okay, for context on this particular story, Space Command is currently in Colorado. It was slated to be moved to Huntsville, Alabama.

It doesn't look like that is going to happen. People in Alabama are really, really mad about this because when a

military command moves to a state, there's a lot of economic activity that goes with it.

So they're upset. One of the things that we have talked

about repeatedly when we're talking about information consumption and how

people manufacture stories and narratives is that they attempt to make

the mundane look suspicious and if you can do that well it gets everybody's

attention and if you can do that, well it gets everybody's attention.

And if you can cast something as suspicious,

well, most times people don't look beyond that.

But today we're going to look a little bit beyond that.

So the story has gone out that General Dickinson, who is one of the generals that would have had some influence over where Space Command wound up, he

bought a house in Colorado. Before he argued to keep Space Command the command that he's in charge of in Colorado.

I mean that certainly sounds like a conflict of interest.

That sounds super suspicious.

Let's see if there's a more mundane answer than, you know, the

general disrupting moving a command so it's closer to his house.
