China issued its response to Trump's tariffs, and for many it seems small, almost like they're blowing off Trump's tariffs.

Some of Trump's supporters are viewing it as the only

real win Trump racked up in the trade war. And that attitude led to questions like this.

Sure, they would have preferred they not happen. But once it's all charted, their system allows them to

export at incredibly low prices. So they'll still be competitive. In some cases, they don't even have

competition. And if they can remain

competitive, why should they care about the tariffs? They don't pay for it. You do. That explains

why their tariffs were very targeted as well. They're not so mad at Trump that they're going

to raise prices on themselves by imposing

broad tariffs. But beyond the tariffs response, they did some other things. Rather than raising

prices on themselves, they announced export controls on some critical minerals. These are minerals that are required in a lot of high-tech
