So today, we're going to talk about birthright restrictions, class action, and a pause.

Trump put out his order restricting birthright citizenship.

It was challenged and district court judges placed nationwide injunctions against the order.

The Supreme Court stepped in at the end of June, said the injunctions against his order could stand, but only for the plaintiffs.

As we suggested what happened in that video, the move to convert a case to a class action case has happened.

A federal judge in New Hampshire granted class action status to a case challenging Trump's order.

The judge also granted a temporary block against Trump's order that would protect American babies

born nationwide from Trump stripping

away their citizenship. Arguments occurred before Judge Joseph LaPlante on Thursday morning.

The plaintiffs argued that Trump's order would cause them to suffer irreparable harm by being

denied birthright citizenship. Obviously,

the judge found that claim credible. Class action status was ordered to be certified in the case,

but only for the children, not the parents. The judge is also giving the Trump administration

seven days to appeal. The plaintiff's attorney,

Cody Wafsey, said, quote, this is going to protect every single child around the country from this

lawless, unconstitutional, and cruel executive order. So, in the end, after the Supreme Court ruling, which we said at the time, did not actually

weigh in on birthright citizenship, the case has been converted to the right kind of case.

I think one of the most interesting analogies I heard about it was that the case to shut down

Trump's executive order had the right directions, but they drove the wrong car to get there.

It makes sense.

So now they're in the right car, and they have to drive the route again.
