Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about Trump,

military beards, and the future. The military is cutting back on or outright eliminating shaving waivers.

For most of you, this seems like something that wouldn't matter to you. But of course it does.

Because like everything from the Chesterson's Fence Administration,

there will be totally foreseeable effects that somehow the administration hasn't foreseen.

So, for those who haven't been exposed to the military,

what's a shaving waiver?

Exactly what it sounds like.

A waiver that says you don't have to be clean shaven.

Now, we're not talking about the kind that the spooky guys get.

The special operation guys have their own thing with this.

We're talking about the medical waivers issued for soldiers

with pseudophilitis barbay, or PFB, commonly called razor bumps. White guys, this is not the

same as razor burn. A new Marine Corps guidance says if the condition persists, it could result in the Marine getting

shown the door, or I guess hatch for y'all.

All branches, even the Air Force, are adjusting their policies.

A lot of people making decisions believe it's some kind of slacking rather than a medical issue. Why is there a misunderstanding?

Because of Trump's anti-DEI policies. You see, PFB affects a lot of soldiers. About 60% of black men are affected.

Okay, so what happens if they refuse to grant waivers and boot people?

Well, it varies year to year and branch to branch, but roughly 15 to 20% of the U.S. military

is black. After accounting for women and those who don't have PFB, the military could boot 6 to 10% of their entire force,

by curtailing a waiver program that has been around at least since the 70s.
