Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again.

So today, we're going to talk about AOC and the rumors about 2028.

The rumor mill and the political commentator class are a buzz

with the idea of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez running for president in 28.

A rumor that as near as we can tell kind of came out of nowhere.

Monica Crowley, who worked public affairs for the Treasury Department during Trump's first term, said, quote,

However, just a word of warning to the Republicans, to my party, do not underestimate AOC.

She's young, she's vibrant, she's attractive.

Most long-term political commentators say she isn't quite there yet, but expect her to be a force

in 2032. But we saw in the last election that conventional

political wisdom is becoming less and less reliable. On some level, Crowley is right. There's a lot

of discontent within the Democratic Party, and there might be a big push for somebody who is

seen as a counterweight to whatever

MAGA has evolved into by the end of this term. AOC could be that candidate, depending on how

the next few years play out. That being said, so far, there's been no confirmation from her or her

team on the rumor. The rumor is currently

getting pushed by right-wing outlets. They're giving it a lot of oxygen, probably

because they feel she'd be easy to frame as far more radical than she is. There are other

prominent Democrats who are being pushed out as potential candidates.

Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, and Josh Shapiro have all been thrown out as early possibilities.

It would be wise for the Democratic Party to pull a Trump and start campaigning absurdly early

to get a jump on building a strong base of support.
