Well, howdy there, Internet people, it's Bell again. So today, we're going to talk about where

things stand on the foreign policy scene in a bunch of different countries as we enter the new year,

just to kind of set the stage for 2025. South Korea, the now impeached president's attempt at declaring martial law continues to have

ripple effects. A South Korean court has issued an arrest warrant for the impeached president.

It's the first time a sitting president in South Korea has had a warrant issued for them.

The investigations continue to reveal more details

about what the president allegedly did during the martial law attempt, including allegations

that he ordered the military to shoot open the doors of Parliament. After the president was impeached,

the prime minister became acting president.

Well, he's been impeached two now. Syria. The new government has appointed some foreign

fighters to positions in the military, which has raised eyebrows and concerns in the West.

Meanwhile, the government is meeting with

Ukrainian officials and is reportedly seeking strategic partnerships with the country. The timeline

for elections has been loosely set at around four years. Panama. So, after Trump suggested the United States may retake the canal,

Panamanian officials dismiss the idea and his concerns.

Most countries in the region have closed ranks with Panama.

A former U.S. Ambassador to Panama said that it would take war to retake the

canal, saying, quote, to attempt to take it back today, I'd like to ask you to go find the

MAGA constituency that's going to support another foreign war, because that is what it would take to get the canal back.

Gaza. There are ups and downs in the quest for peace, but so far there have been no major breakthroughs.

Greenland is still under Denmark, and it doesn't look like that's changing anytime soon.

One of Trump's former advisors said that Greenland was, quote, strategically very important to the Arctic,
