Her name is Jandra Sutton. And I stumbled across her because we're Facebook friends and

Facebook friends with a lot of really cool female entrepreneurs.

But she published an article on Business Insider where she is a writer that was all about personal finance, but specifically how she had realized that she was being undervalued at work and how she

upped her rates and has been growing her net worth ever since.

And this immediately stood out to me because I too

have had a fraught relationship with my own rates. We'll get into a little bit more of a personal

story behind me realizing I wasn't getting paid my worth at my first ever magazine job and how I've

evolved to where I am today. But I'm particularly excited to hear from De, and hopefully you guys will leave today with some really good tips for how you can

implement confidence and raising your own rates and having those conversations and knowing

without a doubt that you're worth it. So thank you so much for coming on the show, Jandra.

Yeah, absolutely. Thank you so much for having me. Of course. So I'd love to get started with hearing

a bit about your background and especially your background when it comes to money and being in a

place where you felt like your income wasn't matching your worth and what it was like when you

approached your boss about that. Yeah. So I have a unique background. I definitely relate to the phrase multi-passion and entrepreneur.

So when I first started in my professional career, I was working in marketing unintentionally.

And I was working for an iPhone startup based out of San Francisco.

And I really loved it, but it was also like a 24-7 on-call customer service slash marketing job, which ended up being a lot. And at the time, I remember being thrilled because I was making $30,000 a year. And it was my first job out of college. And I was like, man, I'm basically loaded. Like, I'm going to put up my student debt so fast.
