The month of October begins tomorrow.

It is one of my favorite months of the year. It's one of the best months of the

year. I have a friend who knows how much I love summer. Often said, I'm the president of the July

fan club. She knew that, but heard me talking about October in a way that was like, wait a minute, I thought,

I thought you love summer. I thought, I thought July was your favorite month of the year.

What's with his October love fest? It's like, I love both summer and I love autumn. I love

July and I love October. Last week was the beginning of fall, the

beginning of autumn. We talked about that. And I proclaimed my admiration, my affection, my love

for all things, or most things, autumn.

And I think if I'm being honest, most of that love,

most of that affection really is focused on the month of October.

I don't feel about November the same way that I feel about October.

There's just something special about this month. With the weather, it's still mild

enough that it's not uncomfortable yet. It is gorgeous. It seemed to me that when we lived

in Maryland that most of the days were sunny and the sky was blue.

The leaves were beginning to change.

And so last week I talked on the first day of autumn about how this is an opportunity

for you and for me because of the beauty of the season, because of the comfort of the season,
