I am standing in my kitchen right now, and I just got power back about two hours ago.

Two hours ago, I spent three days in this house with no heat, no lights,

candles on the kitchen table like it is 1894.

My wife, Darlene, wrapped in a blanket, giving me the look that says,

figure something out, and do not mention the Green Bay Packers while you do it.

The power poles down the road got snapped in half by the wind like mat sticks.

Drips in the front yard up to my chest.

My daughter thought it was the greatest thing she had ever seen in her 11 years.

She said we were like pioneers. We were not like pioneers. We were cold, miserable, and I could not

charge my phone for three days. Now, my neighbor, Gary Pletcher, you've heard me talk about Gary.

Gary runs a snow removal business.

Plow on his truck, contracts up and down the whole neighborhood, been doing it for going on 14 years.

So when I finally dig myself out enough to see across the street, Gary is standing in his

driveway with the look I have never seen on that man. I holler over. Gary, you believe this? And Gary,
