Well, you're never going to be the perfect parent, and today we're going to talk about ways

to let go. I'm John Fuller, along with Dr. Danny, who heads up the focus on the Family

Parenting Department. And Danny, I sure went into parenting thinking,

I got this.

And I didn't use the word perfect,

but I think I expected I could probably do this better than most people.

What's the problem?

That's great.

A little competitive even in your parenting.

I am competitive in my parenting.

That's great.

You know, at least people or parents exhausted with these

impossible goals of being perfect no one can be perfect yet as parents we want to

bring the best our a game to to the table and so it's not necessarily

bad first to aspire to want to be the best you can be for your kids but you just

can't be perfect there's going to be so, there are so many things that are out of our

control and in imperfections, John, we can we can receive love. Love is present

during those moments of imperfection and so we potentially could rob

our relationship of love when we're trying to be perfect and I remember working with

this one mom she was all about structure, about perfection,

but doing things just right for her kids

and she lost the relationship.
