Growing up, if I would say nine out of ten times, if something in our house needed to be ironed,

if there was a piece of clothing that required ironing, my mom would just put a bath towel on the kitchen

table, and that's what she would use as an ironing board. It was only, if she had to iron my dad's

dress shirts, I think that was really the only time she went through the effort to pull out the

ironing board. And so it was so funny to me on last week's video where Tom and I showed our laundry room

makeover and I showed the pesky ironing board that's been living behind our laundry room door.

And there were so many creative solutions, but I was floured by how many people said they just use a towel on the counter or on the table too because I always

thought growing up like these hacks or these things we did wasn't proper or wasn't the thing most

people did but it turns out mom that you were totally not alone welcome to the minimum mom podcast

you may know Don from her minimal mom channel, where she has over 400 videos dedicated

to minimalism and simple living. Today, she talks about a recent video and the conversation

that took place after. My mom often gets a bad rap. I know she's going to listen. So she often gets

a bad rap for maybe not being the best housekeeper. To this day, I don't know how to iron a dress

shirt, but the things that she instilled were so much more valuable, helping friends and family,

soccer practice, 4H, helping my brother learn how to read. I mean, her emphasis wasn't on house

cleaning, but it was on the things that truly mattered the most.

But the good news is too, it's not too late to learn these things, right?

And so there were so many great ideas and tips that came out of that video last week.

So today I wanted to circle back and share some of them, tell you what we ultimately decided to do with the irony board to sprite all the best ideas.

And I want to share with you the coolest thing about this transformation in our laundry

room because it was a completely unexpected benefit, but it has us all loving doing the laundry

right now.
