And now here's Andrew. Welcome to our Wednesday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

This week I'm teaching through the life of Joseph, and this is only my third day.

We are just really getting into the introduction, but I've already covered some really important things.

So I'm offering CDs and DVDs that are actually taken from these television programs, and my staff has put together a little booklet that is an introduction to the lessons from Joseph.

This is a free gift to you. It's just kind of a real quick summary. It's only about 20, 30 pages. It's not very long, but this is a free gift.

The other things we're asking for a donation of any amount, and then we also have teachings, the same thing, lessons from Elijah in CD and DVD, and then we have lessons from David in CD and DVD.

And I've already made this point on Monday's program, but this is one of the ways that God has molded my life, is I didn't have to go out and experience everything on my own.

I've learned through the mistakes and through the good things of other people in Scripture, and I tell you I just love the life of Joseph.

So I've already covered a lot of things. Let me just go back and say that yesterday I was really emphasizing that these two dreams that were given to Joseph when he was 17 years old

were critical to the entire story of understanding how God dealt with Joseph. And just like Joseph, God wants to give you a dream or a vision about your life.

If you don't have a goal, a purpose for your life, then I guarantee you you are going to miss what God has for you.

You don't get to God's perfect plan for your life just automatically. It doesn't sovereignly come to pass.

You have to pursue the things of God. Now what I said right there is really important because I would say that the average person, even let me say it this way, the average Christian who has already received salvation and loves God.

They want to be used of God. They want to have their life count, but they just kind of suppose that God is going to supernaturally sovereignly work things out in their life.

You cannot find that in Scripture. I could go back through Moses, through Joseph, David, Elijah, every person, Paul, Peter, everybody, and you could go and they had to pursue the things of God.

If you don't pursue the things of God, it will not come to pass automatically.

Again, I can say in my life that man, there's decisions that I've made and sometimes it would have been easy to run the other direction, but I just kept with what God told me to do because of a vision that he's placed in my heart.

It's really important for you to understand that these dreams that were given to Joseph were major influences in his life.

So yesterday we were reading about how that his brothers had already rejected him. His father Jacob told him to take some food and supplies to his brothers who were keeping the sheep and as he found them and as he was approaching them, they saw him and they hated him in their heart.
