1:21.7	So the government shut down this morning, 12.01 a.m. A bitter spending deadlock between President Trump, Democrats, and Congress.
1:30.6	That's going to disrupt federal services. It's leaving many federal workers furloughed.
1:35.4	It was the first federal shutdown since 2019. That was during Trump's first term, when parts of the
1:41.6	government were shuttered for 35 days in a standoff
1:44.4	between congressional Democrats and Mr. Trump over the president's demand to fund a wall
1:49.8	at the southern border, remember? And then they're saying now, well, we shouldn't be using
1:54.2	politics, leveraging the American people this way. And now they're doing the very same thing
2:00.4	that they said shouldn't happen.

2:02.9	This time the dispute is over Democrats' demand that the president agreed to extend
2:06.3	expiring health care subsidies and restore Medicaid cuts and acted over the summer as part
2:11.6	of Mr. Trump's marquee tax cut and domestic policy law.
