Summary

We’re back from gamescom, jetlagged, but excited to have some new and upcoming games to discuss. Capcom had a solid lineup including Pragmata, which doesn’t put puzzles above shooting, but still has puzzles, and probably isn’t a Mega Man prequel. The Resident Evil Requiem demo we had didn’t blow us away, but it also didn’t show too much, and maybe the element of surprise will work in its favor, much as it does with the best horror movie trailers that don’t show too much. High on Life 2 contains playable retro games, and probably really bad ones, and you can do sword things sword of swordways in Onimusha: Way of the Sword. LEGO Batman Legacy of the Dark Knight was one of the biggest surprise announcements out of ONL, and we’re very much looking forward to it, though anyone expecting a serious Arkham game, or a conventional TT Games minifig collect-a-thon might want to adjust their expectations, as it seems to be a mix of the two. Finally, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a damn good time, and it remakes one of the best games ever made with plenty of added bonuses, but without changing too much. Perhaps it could have benefitted from a few more changes, like Capcom’s recent Resident Evil remakes have taken liberties, but maybe keeping it simple is the first step in Konami winning back the trust of Metal Gear fans.  00:01:19 - Pragmata 00:06:33 - Resident Evil: Requiem 00:13:26 - High on Life 2 00:17:06 - Onimusha 00:19:09 - Road Kings 00:21:24 - LEGO Batman is Mixing Up The LEGO Game Formula 00:36:05 - Metal Gear Solid Delta is Really Good! 00:46:58 - Humble Bundle & Outro Learn more about your ad choices. And I'm here with Jada Griffin and Brian Altano, two people that I spent the last 11 days hanging out in Germany at Gamescom. What's up, everybody?

0:38.1

Goodt and Tag. I think that's how you say it, right? Hello. Yeah, so this is, this is sort of weird to get back in the

0:44.6

back in the saddle of doing this show remotely after we just were wandering the streets and

0:48.5

hosting live shows at Gamescom and all that. But we certainly have lots to talk about. I want to start things off talking about

0:55.9

some of our favorite stuff from Gamescom, but after that I do want to talk about Metal Gear Solid Delta,

1:00.3

and I feel like we should have a serious conversation about what's going on with Lego Batman

1:04.0

Legacy of the Dark Night, which I feel like should be called Legacy of the Brick Night, but whatever,

1:09.4

that probably is too complicated branding wise.

1:12.6

Anyway, what was your, what were your like two or three favorite things from Gamescom and

1:16.9

and why?

1:18.9

1:19.7

1:20.7

Okay, I'm going to start off with an easy one.

1:23.5

Pragmata.

1:24.2

I'm going to start with pragmatta.

1:25.1

It's one of my favorites from the show, mostly because it was the most unknown quantity for any of the games that were there.

1:34.2

You know, I played Silk Song, I played Resident Evil, I played Oni Lucia, but all those things I knew what they were.

1:38.7

Pragmata, I had no idea what this was. And I am so happy with how it plays and just like the contents,
