Summary

This week, we’re talking about the literally groundbreaking new destruction physics in Battlefield 6, which looks to be almost on par with Donkey Kong Bananza’s smashability, but in an obviously very different way. We’re also chatting with the developers of Ninja Gaiden Ragebound about the throwback platformer’s NES roots, and sharing some of the games we’ve been playing lately like the indie cycling racer Wheel World (which does not have pixies) and Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (which does) and also unpacking why Resident Evil and Duolingo have formed an unlikely social media friendship in Japan. 00:00:00 - Intro 00:03:13 - Battlefield 6 00:12:09 - Duolingo vs. Resident Evil 00:14:25 - Horizon Zero Dawn Lawsuit 00:21:22 - Wheel World00:27:55 - The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales 00:34:00 - The King is Watching 00:34:55 - Ninja Gaiden Ragebound 00:41:00 - Ninja Gaiden Ragebound Dev Interview 01:10:58 - Outro This weeks show is Max Scoville, Jada Griffin, Nick Maillet, and is produced by Tayo Oyekan Learn more about your ad choices. Max, that was probably the, like, lowest energy.

0:31.8

Like, how's it going?

0:32.9

Just like, we're just cruising in after Comic Con week.

0:37.0

I'm like, you know what, though?

0:40.2

Totally fair.

0:41.1

And I'm jealous of you because for those out there listening who didn't get to see it,

0:45.4

Max got to do something I never thought I would get to see a friend of mine do.

0:49.6

And that's voicing a freaking Ninja Turtle.

0:52.1

I am so, like, permanently jealous of you. And and I love you to death and I hope that I once

0:57.7

eventually in my life get a chance to voice a ninja turtle like that.

1:01.0

So my kid has no idea what I do in general.

1:05.1

You know, she thinks I does, I do meetings.

1:07.5

And then occasionally I'll be like, hey, guess what I did?

1:09.6

And I show her a video where it's like, so for context, we got, we got some Ninja Turtle cosplayers that were just like creeping around Comic-Con to promote the fact that the original movie is back in theaters. And they were doing this weird montage where they basically were just having them like creeping around in the background of all these different shots. And so there was there was a bit where they like crept through the back of our stage.

1:28.0

And then Carato, who's our head of video, got this hairbrained scheme that we should have them doing like one of our sort of tosses to break, being like, hey, everybody, you're watching Comic Con, Calabunga dudes. And so he had the two, the turtle, the turtle mass had like, they could like open and close their mouths kind of, like it didn't look very good.
