Summary

Sometimes it's better to never have a chance at that thing you didn't think you could have, right? Because when it's suddenly in your grasp - when it's something you should actually get - seeing it slip away is doubly frustrating. That's Wednesday's game in Memphis for the Lakers. On the second night of a back-to-back against a team playing excellent basketball, it was expected the Lakers would probably lose. Instead, they led for three quarters, building up a 13 point lead as the fourth quarter approached. It all went south from there. 16 points in the final frame sunk the purple and gold. Too many turnovers, too many critical misses (including another blown bucket at the rim by Russell Westbrook), and too much Ja Morant means the Lakers lose a chance to get back to .500. To say the least, the Lakers were showing their frustration after the game. Who can blame them? LeBron James was once again excellent, stretching his streak of 30+ point games to six. He dropped 37 on the eve of his 37th birthday, and nearly had his second straight triple double. But again, it wasn't enough. That shouldn't keep people from appreciating the totality of his career, even in the midst of a disappointing season, and the unprecedented run of excellence we're seeing. Some context is helpful. HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: The Lakers lose a disappointing game in Memphis. Watching this one get away hurt. SEGMENT 2: Talen Horton-Tucker's slump is getting longer, and more problematic. What happens if he doesn't turn it around? Plus some more Westbrook talk. Those fourth quarter breakdowns are a problem. SEGMENT 3: Let's talk about LeBron, because what he's doing, and what he's done, is unbelievable. Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors!
