Summary

Lakers fans have faced some indignities through the early part of the 2022-23 season, but perhaps none is bigger than entering Friday's game against Sacramento as an underdog. At home. Again, vs. Sacramento. And while the Kings aren't hot garbage this year, they're still the Kings. One reason the Lakers are dogs? LeBron James will miss the game with, officially, an adductor strain suffered in Wednesday's loss to the Clippers. There's a good chance he'll miss Sunday, too. Is that the right play? On the one hand, two more losses and the Lakers would be a staggering 2-11. On the other, after Sunday, the Lakers don't play again until Friday, meaning James could get over a week of rest between games. It's the best chance to give him extended rest without missing a bunch of games, and expect the Lakers to take advantage. Especially if they can win on Friday. And along those lines, Anthony Davis, it's your time to carry a team. Seriously. This is what stars do. Sometimes you just have to steal a game yourself. This is one of those times. An interesting question was asked on the @Kambrothers Twitter feed, wondering if in the end people will look back on the Davis trade as worth it. Yes, the Lakers won a title, but there has been, and likely will be, a lot of dark seasons around that championship. The "Bubble Title" knock is BS, but there is something a little different about it, that season, and the context around it, especially compared to other title runs the franchise has experienced. Finally, LeBron weighs in on the Kyrie Irving Controversy, and (not surprisingly) sticks up for his former teammate. Does he have a point? HOSTS: Andy and Brian Kamenetzky SEGMENT 1: LeBron is out Friday, and the Lakers are home dogs vs. Sacramento. That's a lot of sadness and the game hasn't even started. SEGMENT 2: Was the Anthony Davis trade worth it? Yes, but it's easy to see how fans would be questioning it. SEGMENT 3: LeBron takes to Kyrie's defense... Support Us By Supporting Our Sponsors! Lockdown Lakers on YouTube is where you can go to get the show early, a lot of times a few hours before you get the audio version.

Thanks to everybody who is helping that channel grow and participating in the comment section.

1:12.7

A lot of angst, a lot of anger that we've seen there, but everybody treats each other with a lot of care and respect.

1:20.7

It's kind of a thing to replace Andy, you could even say right now as things are looking dark.

1:25.7

I got to say, giving some props to our viewers for this and listeners and whoever crosses over into both.

1:34.7

As we've seen in just like 48 hours of Elon Musk's Twitter, social media can be a cesspool of just depravity and the worst way we've seen.

1:49.7

The way we all treat each other, our community with Lockdown Lakers is awesome because even when I've seen people being critical towards you or me, which by the way, you're always allowed to do.

2:01.7

But what's cool about it is very rarely, if ever, have we seen anybody cross a line in the way they talk to us, much less anybody else in the community, which we very much appreciate.

2:14.7

Particularly as two people who have spent a lot of time online having to often babysit the worst of the worst.

2:21.7

That is true and I do have to say I have had to clear an inordinate amount of German pornography posted.

2:31.7

But that's not related to our listeners, I don't think.

2:37.7

That's just how the YouTube works.

2:42.7

And while it violates the terms of what we want in our comments and frankly, it doesn't really apply to the videos themselves.

2:50.7

Also, I don't speak German.

2:53.7

I actually speak German so I can confirm it's pornography.
