wanted to take some time to address these big family issues this month here at Awesome Marriage.

So today we're going to be talking specifically about leaving and cleaving and what that means.

So Dr. Kim, let's just dive right in. Where did this idea of leaving and cleaving come from? Seems to be God's

idea since he mentions it in the Bible. He talks about men to leave his basic family of origin and

be united to his wife. And so it's kind of interesting. You know, we think about, yeah, you get married

and you leave and you go with your spouse and everything, but God created marriage. It was important, but he also stressed the fact of leaving and cleaving.

So he had to know that it might be an issue for us, for him to even address it and to say,

this is the way you're supposed to do it.

So it really was his idea, and there's obviously with anything of God's wisdom, and it's amazing.

And when we do it well, things are really good. And if we don't do it

well, we can cause all our problems in a marriage. Yeah, certainly. And it does. It stems,

you're so right, just straight from God's words. So the main verse that people say when you say the

actual terminology, leave and cleave, it comes from Genesis 2.24 and the King James version actually

says leave and cleave. So it says,
