What was originally an episode recapping the second part of Tyler’s Leave LOUD episode turned into an unscripted convo about Black freedom in white spaces. Make sure you’re sitting down for this one! #LeaveLOUD ********* In 2018, the New York Times published an article tiled: A Quiet Exodus: Why Black Worshipers Are Leaving White Evangelical Churches that chronicled the plight of Black Christians who quietly exited their churches after their pastors and fellow believers failed to denounce state-sanctioned violence against Black people, white Christian Nationalism, systemic racism, and everyday bigotry. Since that time, things have gotten worse, not better. In recent months, we’ve seen a surge of Black leaders and congregants in predominantly white or multiethnic churches and Christian spaces decide that it’s time for them to go. We bear witness to the hurt, harm, and frustration that our siblings have experienced. Enough is enough. It’s time to #LeaveLOUD To #LeaveLOUD is to tell our stories, to name things for what they are, to take back the dignity we’ve lost while being in institutions that don’t value the fullness of the image of God within us, and to go where we are celebrated and not just tolerated. For the next several weeks, we will be sharing stories of Black Christians who have made the decision to #LeaveLOUD. We will also be providing thoughtful analysis, words of wisdom, and resources for those who have already left or who are discerning whether they should #LeaveLOUD. 0:26.8	We do have a guest on behind the mic. I'm hosting again, which is kind of odd and awkward.
0:33.4	But the reason why I'm hosting is because I have a special treat for you all tonight.
0:38.6	So usually the president of witness BCC, Tyler Burns, usually he is the person who is doing
0:47.2	the interviewing as opposed to being the interviewer. Well tonight, we're going to turn the tables
0:53.1	and Tyler is going to be our interviewer. So let me bring him on. All right.
0:59.2	First thing where you at. What up, what up? How are we doing? I'm here with Tyler.
1:03.8	Man, it feels like it's been forever since I've seen you, but it's only been since 1030 this month.
1:10.3	Right. I also got to plug the R2D2 mug. All right. Get with it. Star Wars made a force
1:17.2	to be with you. You know what I'm saying? Hey, hey, so we have the tables turned a little
1:23.0	bit beautifully. You're the one this interviewing me. This is my first time actually interviewing
1:29.6	you. I believe so this is this is a. And my first question for you because I because you
1:36.2	don't you know how I am like I got I got to come with all the whatever. But the reason why
1:41.3	I am interviewing you tonight is that two weeks ago, you the second part of your story was
1:48.0	shared on past the mic. And you until your story, you had said that in order to really know
1:54.8	your story in depth, you had to understand it in the context of your dad's story. And so
2:01.8	in the first episode, in the first part, it ended up being I should say kind of just kind of
2:05.7	weird that you might be asking yourself, okay, we had, you know, Jamar, we had Tyler, then
2:10.4	we had two parts of Ali and then we jumped in there with a Tyler part two. Yeah, yeah.
