I remember I was, I interviewed Mike one time during my time at Barstools,

like my first time on air.

And he,

and he was just being Mike. And I was just, you know, I grew up listening to Mike and a Magdoll. I mean, how can you not? And I think I was trying to get a question in. And after the interview, one of the call was like, well, like, it was an absolute vocal fry. Like, get out the way.

Like, it's Mike.

Shut your mouth.

And it was like a lesson.

I mean, I'm fortunate enough to be on air with you because I do, whether you know it or not, you teach me a lot of lessons as far as how to handle the time. So I appreciate that. But Mike, it's interesting when you interview somebody as big as Mike, Francesa, you got to get out the way.

Like, when they're on, get out the way, let them do what they do.

And he was the first, and I was like, raw as raw can be. He's the first one when the train's on the track, big fella, get out the train. And he was a train. I mean, he was hitting everything. He was just all over the place. And there's nothing that we couldn't ask him that he didn't have an answer for or some type of insightful opinion.

And he was just like less than one-on-one of radio.

And he was just like lessen one-on-one of radio. Like when the big dogs in the room just kind of. And that's probably you right off the football field. Right off the slab. How much different was it for, so you used to be the one in front of the microphone. So here with the Jets, you're with the Steelers. after the game, you've got 18, 20 mics in your face.

When you are now the one holding the microphone, did it give you a new, I'm clearly a new perspective, but a new respect for what reporters have to do and the way they have to answer and pose questions? Oh, 100%. Like even being like when Seelow, when I was in locker, when and Celo was there, like, that job isn't easy because one, we're now in the best of moods, especially if we lose. Two, we're always taught even before those, you know, during the day, like Rex and even coach team during my time with the Steelers, on Wednesdays, they would prep us on what to say on kind of the theme of the week, right? So you try to stay in line with that. And in Mike, you know, Mike Tomlin always had a thing he would say,

if you're going to sign a check meaning say something in the media that's going to draw attention sign your name on a check don't say it on behalf of the pittsburg stealers could not all of his on board and we had an incident one time and i think've told the story before, we had a safety out of Syracuse.

We go out to New England, Steelers versus Pats.
