Today we’re talking with the founder of Quest Bars about how he was able to build a health bar empire. Quest Bars sell 1.5 million bars per day, and today he is giving us a behind the scenes view of what it takes to do something on that scale, and just importantly, what it feels like to achieve the much success.
Tom places a tremendous amount of emphasis on where your self esteem comes from. If your self esteems comes from being right, you will feel too threatened to admit when you’re wrong, and learn from it. But if your self esteem instead comes from the idea that you are an incredible learner, the best learner in any room, you will be willing to admit when you’re wrong.
Just like he says, your behavior is driven by your identity. So the process of defining to yourself what your own identity is, will change your behavior, and in fact is one of the most powerful ways to change your behavior to be what you want it to be.
Learn how to achieve incredible success in whatever you plan to do in life, on this episode of The Tai Lopez Show!

Points to Keep In Mind
- What you build your self esteem around matters
- Most people build self esteem around being right, good, or something else. Instead, build your self esteem around being the fastest, best learner
- Being a constant learner is the only way that you are going to achieve great things
- Make your goal the adventure, rather than being right
- Influencers are a powerful way to launch
- Business partners are like a marriage: You need to really, really know the person before you agree to anything
- When you do a really good influencer campaign, people will start going into stores, expecting them to be sold there, and asking about it, which will pressure the stores to stock your product
- Say no to stores who want to carry your product, keep building online, evangelize your customers until they love you, and then in a year or so you can negotiate a deal that’s much better for you
- What you chase moves away from you, and what you deny moves closer. So attract what you want, but don’t too much of a chaser
- You have to play the long game
- When your marketing, there has to be a subconscious thing that vibes with what your customer thinks about themselves
- You should believe that you can learn to do literally anything
- Behavior is driven by identity
- Make your identity what you want it to be, and your behavior must follow
- Use mentors instead of constantly trying to reinvent the wheel
