Summary
Leaky gut syndrome is a byproduct of our modern world- from antibiotic trauma to inorganic, processed and genetically modified foods- the human gastrointestinal tract has undergone some serious changes, and not necessarily for the better.Β I would say approximately 98% of all of my clients have some sort of digestive symptom, most have taken antibiotics, and were raised on the S.A.D. (Standard American Diet).Β
From the standpoint of holistic traditions of medicine, the digestive system is considered the root of the vital force, determining the health of the entire organism. In short, if something is "off" in the gut, things will be "off" elsewhere in the body (and the mind). From chronic pain, headaches, and skin conditions, to irritability, depression and brain fog, leaky gut syndrome can be at the root of many chronic and common complaints of the modern client.
This discussion outlines some critical herbal actions to consider when treating leaky gut syndrome with herbs as well as a few formulation ideas to start working with.Β
