Summary

Today we’re talking about how dads can make their wife and kids feel loved at a cellular level.

In the Gospels, Jesus often touched people before He healed them. Lepers. The blind. Children. Touch came first—then transformation.

Modern science is now confirming what Scripture has always shown: a simple, intentional hug releases oxytocin, lowers stress, and builds emotional safety. Especially when it comes from a dad.

If you’ve ever felt unsure what to say when your child is overwhelmed—or how to connect with your wife without fixing or performing—this episode is for you.

Sometimes the most spiritual leadership doesn’t sound like anything at all.

Sometimes it looks like staying close.

Do you remember that story in Mark chapter one where this man with leprosy

comes up to Jesus and he says if you're willing you can heal me? And it's fascinating because this

been touched in years. And he begs Jesus to be healed. And Jesus, the Bible says,

looks at him with great compassion. And then he does something crazy. He actually touches him.

0:44.9

And after he touches him, he says, I am willing, and he's healed. But he touches him first. He

doesn't heal him and then touch him. He touches him. Fully contagious man, outcast, seen as unclean by all society.

And Jesus touches that man and then he heals him. Or that story in Mark 822 where there's a man

who's blind and he wants to be healed. And the Bible says that Jesus holds his hand and leads him

out of the village. Imagine the God of the universe holding your hand and walking you

to be healed. There is something, I believe, supernatural about touch. And I've told you guys this

before at the dad tired conferences and I feel like you guys always make fun of me. But when you

embrace your wife or when you embrace your kids with a hug, you are speaking more to them than most words will ever be able to communicate.

And I know you guys make fun to me about this all the time.

And it seems so cheesy and simple.

But I'm telling you, there's even research to back this up.

Like there was a study over 13,000 people that showed human touch, a hug, a hug specifically over 20 seconds,
