Hi, my name is Pete Scazzara. I want to welcome you today to the emotionally healthy leader

podcast. So great to be with you. Our title today is Leadership Case Studies, How to Change a Deeply

Engrained Culture. Now, I've known for years about MBA programs, such as those at Harvard and other places.

My daughter was in one in Spain as well, which focuses on case studies to teach content.

I even have a niece in medical school right now, and even in her first year, she's dissecting

cadavers as she's learning about the human body

very much almost like a case study method. And so I recently fell into, as I mentioned on a few

podcasts ago, this idea of case studies as a way of teaching. I did a master's class around the

emotionally healthy discipleship book that I wrote a few

months ago, and I took 40 people, and I had them do case studies and send them into me,

and I gave them the basic template, and it was just amazing. It was, for me, it was brilliant.

And I created a little template, which I'm going to invite you to use in the future,

which was, you know, tell me some facts of your church or ministry, describe one challenging

problem or situation that you're facing. What attempts have you made thus far to address that

situation? And then from where you are now, what do you think of your next steps? And then what

questions are you holding? And in fact,

three weeks ago, I did on this podcast a roadmap for transformational supervision part two

that I actually used case studies. And I got a very large response from many of you about how

helpful that was. And so I think just not just your response and people's responses to case

studies, but even my own sense of consolation, joy, a sense of God being in it, I am going to

do this week leadership case studies around a theme, and I want to pilot it. This is a pilot.

And if it goes, well, I may do one a month or one every two months with a different theme around it.
