Are you reading enough? I've got to tell you this. I had a friend's day over recently and her and I were peers in New York. We worked in the same industry, but for different companies,

and we'd share information, share intel. We've been friends for many years now. And when she

stayed over, before she left, she was looking at my bookshelf. And she's read a lot of the

same books I have. And this girl is incredible. She's a wonderful mom. She's had a great career. She's made some

very, very savvy investments. And I just knew in my bones, I was like, of course she reads.

Of course she's read all of these. That's why her life has turned out so much to her liking.

That's why she has so much security. This is why she's been able to do so much and achieve so much,

specifically things that she wants to do and achieve. My friends, if you say you don't have time

to read, are you on social media? Seriously, you must be the only person in the world not

wasting time online. I learned this expression years ago that leaders are readers. And some people, no matter the topic,

have dedicated their entire life to mastering it, whether it's something to do in botany,

something to do with horses, something to do with the mind, something to do with languages

and travel. People out there have dedicated their entire existence,

their entire living existence to create these books for us. However you consume them doesn't matter.

Maybe you're an e-book reader. Maybe you like audiobooks. Maybe you're old-fashioned like me and

like a good old paperback. But my friends, are you reading enough? Why wouldn't you? It's the ultimate

shortcuts. You learn from other people's mistakes. You learn their lessons. You haven't got time

to make them all. So why not just adopt so much wisdom from people who've come before us. I've often said that readings like cheating.

I get advice. I get tips. I speak to the dead. So here I am reading books from people who died

many years ago, years and years before I was even born. And they're imparting their wisdom to me. In self-coaching society, I'm going to be

sharing what books I'm delving into more and more this year. I'm doing a lot of rereads. I'm of course
